What goes on a trip sheet
A trip sheet is the driver's record of one trip. The office uses it to check costs, settle the driver's cash and see what the trip earned.
- Trip sheet number and date, the vehicle number and the driver.
- Route: where the truck loaded and where it delivered.
- Odometer at start and at end. The difference is the distance, and it gives you mileage (km per litre).
- Load: goods, party and the LR or invoice number.
- Cash given to the driver (advance) before the trip.
- Every expense: date, type and amount, for diesel, toll, food, loading and the rest.
- Balance: advance minus expenses. If positive, the driver returns cash. If negative, the office pays the driver.
- Signatures of the driver and of the office person who checked it.

ट्रिप शीट कैसे भरें (हिंदी में)
- कंपनी का नाम, ट्रिप शीट नंबर, तारीख और गाड़ी नंबर लिखें।
- ड्राइवर का नाम, फ़ोन और लाइसेंस नंबर भरें।
- माल कहाँ से कहाँ गया, पार्टी का नाम और LR नंबर लिखें।
- गाड़ी का मीटर (ओडोमीटर) शुरू में और आख़िर में लिखें। दोनों का फ़र्क़ ही चला हुआ किलोमीटर है।
- ड्राइवर को ट्रिप से पहले जो नक़द (एडवांस) दिया, वह लिखें।
- हर ख़र्च लिखें: डीज़ल, टोल, खाना, लोडिंग, अनलोडिंग, मरम्मत, वग़ैरह। तारीख़ और रक़म के साथ।
- एडवांस में से ख़र्च घटाएँ। बचे तो ड्राइवर लौटाएगा, कम पड़े तो ऑफ़िस ड्राइवर को देगा।
- ड्राइवर और ऑफ़िस वाले, दोनों हस्ताक्षर करें।

What is a trip sheet?
A trip sheet is the record of one truck trip: vehicle, driver, route, odometer, load, the cash given to the driver and every expense on the road. The office uses it to check costs and settle the driver.
How is the driver's balance worked out?
Balance = advance given minus total expenses. If it is positive, the driver returns the cash. If it is negative, the office pays the driver the difference.
What is the difference between a trip sheet and an LR?
The LR (lorry receipt) is the receipt for the goods and travels with the truck. The trip sheet is an internal record of the trip's costs and cash.
