What a freight bill is
A freight bill, also called a transport bill, is the bill a transporter sends to a party for carrying goods. It usually covers many LRs (lorry receipts) together, often for a month. This is the bill for LRs marked TBB (to be billed).
What goes on a freight bill
- Bill number and date, and the billing period it covers.
- Transporter: name, address, GSTIN and PAN. Party: name, address and GSTIN.
- One line per LR: LR number and date, from and to, vehicle number.
- Quantity and rate: by ton, by trip or by km. Quantity times rate is the freight for that line.
- GST: the service is "goods transport by road", SAC 996511. Show CGST + SGST for the same state, or IGST for another state.
- Reverse charge: say whether the party or the transporter pays the tax. This depends on how your business is registered, so confirm it with your CA.
- Bank details and the payment due date.
- Attach the LR copies and the delivery proof (POD). Parties pay faster when the proof is there.

- ट्रांसपोर्ट कंपनी का नाम, पता, GSTIN और PAN लिखें।
- बिल नंबर, तारीख और बिल किस अवधि का है (जैसे 1 से 31 अक्टूबर) लिखें।

What is a freight bill or transport bill?
It is the bill a transporter gives a party for carrying goods. It lists the LRs (lorry receipts) with quantity, rate and freight, and it is often made once a month for LRs marked TBB (to be billed).
What goes on a freight bill?
