Delivery note and tax invoice in the UAE

  1. A delivery note is proof that goods were delivered. Secondary sources say it has no direct VAT effect. The FTA position was not confirmed.
  2. A sale needs a tax invoice. Its fields are set in Article 59 of the VAT Executive Regulations (Cabinet Decision 52 of 2017).
  3. Keep delivery notes, invoices and proof of delivery together. The FTA can ask for them in an audit.
  4. E-invoicing is being introduced. The FTA says the Ministry of Finance portal is the only official source for the timeline.
