The problem
Your billing staff open an item to make a bill and see what you paid for it. Now they know your margin. Some tell the customer, some tell a competitor, some ask why their salary is so low. Many billing apps can only hide a whole screen, so you either show the cost or stop the person from billing.

Hidden means the server never sends it to that person. It is not greyed out or covered, so it cannot be found with a trick.
Set it up in 3 steps
- Make a role, for example "Billing".
- Leave "Cost & purchase prices" unticked. Tick only what the role needs: sales invoices, customers, stock.
- Invite your staff with that role. They log in with their own email. You still see everything.

Counter billing
The clerk picks the item and the selling price fills in. No purchase price on the screen, no profit on the bill.
Goods arrive at the godown
The store keeper records the goods receipt by quantity. The price comes from your purchase order; the store keeper never types or sees it.
Salesman checks stock
He sees how many pieces are left in each godown, but not what that stock is worth.

Can staff still make invoices without seeing the purchase price?
Yes. The selling price, tax and total work as usual. Only the cost is hidden.
Can the store keeper receive goods without seeing the price?
Yes. The goods receipt takes the price from your purchase order, so the store keeper records only the quantity.
Who can make purchase orders and bills then?
Only people whose role may see purchase prices. Otherwise a hidden price would be saved as zero.
Can I hide customer phone numbers and bank details too?
Yes. Contacts and bank details are separate groups you can hide per role.
Can I show the cost to one person later?
Yes. Tick "Cost & purchase prices" in their role, or give them a second role that has it.
